Well, then, says Edward Morris, he can finish a story in front of a virtual crowd. This Friday, we’ll publish Installment 6* of his web serial, Death, Inc.: There Was a Crooked Man, Book Zero. After that, Ed will be writing the rest of the book based on the responses to a series of web-poll questions we’ll be posting here on the blog this week.
“Installment Six is called Interlude, and it’s a turning point in the story. It can go a couple of different ways after that,” Ed says. “I want to see what the readers think.”
Is this harder or easier than how Ellison did it? Well, Ed won’t have people actually staring at him while he works: that’s easier. But there will be no bookstore staff to bring him coffee. That’s definitely harder.
Stop by tomorrow for the first poll question.
* If you’re reading this before Friday,
the installment isn’t live yet.
